A couple of months ago my friend Maggie asked me to be on her team of knitters working to create a tree cozy nearly nine feet long. It was part of a bigger project put together by the Blanton Museum of Art and Austin's Knitta Please, who is known for her public acts of knitting graffiti. Knitting on a deadline with acrylic yarn had it's less-glamorous moments, but I knew that when the whole project went up-- in total 99 trees in one plaza outfitted in different patterns of the same color scheme-- that it would be really cool. I was right. The installation was last Friday night and you can now go over to the Blanton plaza and see this Knitted Wonderland for yourself. You guys did awesome. I like the small olive stripes. It helps pull the colors together. I'm still loading all my pictures from the event.
that looks so totally -- Dr Seuss! in a good and super fun way! congratulations, i can't wait to see it in person.
I was pleasantly surprised to discover this on my way to class! It really brightened my day. Yall did an awesome!
